Job Description
Coach, recruit, and provide operational support to the Men’s Basketball program. This position will be the liaison and campus contact for Men’s Basketball.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
2. Assist with coaching at practice and during games.
3. Coordinate with other departments to facilitate player recruitment and other player related concerns.
4. Create and manage recruiting mail-outs and contacts.
5. Assist the head coach in organizing practice and game schedules.
6. Assist in managing scholarship requests and other required institutional and NCAA forms through the university’s compliance software.
7. Assist in the management of class schedules, book vouchers, and academic progress for student-athletes.
8. Organize and arrange all team travel, which includes managing budget and credit card reconciliations.
9. Organize and account for all team equipment, including ordering, check out and storage.
10. Manage social media sites, coordinate community service events, and be a coordinator for summer camp.
11. Serve as facilities liaison and work with Events Center Facilities Director on Men’s Basketball team and visiting team needs.
12. Participate in organization and execution of basketball practices, scouting reports, individual workouts, and break down film from our own team.
13. Adhere to all conference and NCAA rules, pass annual NCAA recruiting test.
14. Attend all department compliance meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

- Knowledge of standard budgeting and expenditure control procedures and documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to travel, including domestic/international air travel, and work nights/weekends.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard, or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of two years experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
