Experienced Line Cook – Native Son Family Restaurant (Canton, TX)

We’re looking for a professional cook who can plate consistently, knows their knife skills, understands classical foundations (mother sauces, proper technique, seasoning, timing), and wants to grow with a kitchen that is building a real reputation.

Native Son is an independent, from-scratch East Texas kitchen (Southern + Cajun + Texas) working with recipes developed alongside James Beard Award-winning chef Tim Byres. We have strong critical recognition (Texas Monthly 4-star), cook for high-profile private events (including Glen Powell), and regularly do elevated projects: Tales of the Cocktail, Round Top pop-ups, competitions, special events, and catering that actually matters.

This is not a corporate line. This is not a title role. This is a hands-on station in a tight team that executes elevated food with consistency and pride. We promote from within and give raises frequently to people who show up, own their work, and raise the standard.

What we need:

• Proven full-service line experience (not fast food or institutional)
• Strong knife skills and the ability to plate food cleanly and consistently every single ticket
• Working knowledge of classical technique and the ability to execute refined versions of regional dishes
• Dependable, driven, low-drama professional who wants to be part of building something with real momentum
• Someone who takes pride in the craft and wants growth opportunities (events, travel, special projects, advancement)
