Job Summary:

The Physician specializing in ENT will provide general otolaryngology care including clinic visits, limited surgical cases, and hospital consults. The role involves managing adult and pediatric patients with a patient volume averaging 16 per day in clinic, supplemented by occasional operating room cases. The physician will also provide on-call coverage including night and weekend shifts, collaborating with a multidisciplinary support team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct outpatient clinic visits Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Provide on-call coverage for hospital consults while in clinic and via pager during night shifts.
• Manage 24-hour on-call coverage on weekends, including 4 hours of unpaid call time.
• Perform scheduled surgical procedures in the operating room as needed.
• Evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric patients presenting with general ENT conditions.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, licensed practical nurses, registration specialists, and audiologists to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient encounters and maintain medical records using the Epic electronic medical record system.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3 years of residency in Otolaryngology.
• Active medical licensure with IMLC eligibility or appropriate state licensure.
• Experience managing general ENT cases in both outpatient and hospital settings.
• Ability to provide care for both adult and pediatric patient populations.
• No pending malpractice claims or adverse background history.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• Previous locum tenens or similar flexible clinical work experience.
• Familiarity with hospital consult protocols and surgical scheduling.

Special Considerations:

• On-call responsibilities include nights during the week and 24-hour coverage on weekends with 4 hours gratis on weekend call.
• Locum tenens position with credentialing timeline typically 45 days, expedited to as short as 3 weeks.
• Will not be required to manage significant facial trauma cases.
• Support staff includes 1 RN, 2 LPNs, 2 registration specialists, and audiologists.
• Travel and lodging expenses are capped with specified contracted hotels and rental car providers.

Scheduling:

• Clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Night call coverage via pager on weekdays while in clinic.
• Weekend 24-hour on-call shifts including 4 hours of unpaid call time.
• Patient volume approximately 16 patients per day with occasional operating room days.
