Nocturnist Hospitalist – BSA Health System | Amarillo, Texas
Physician-led, hospital-employed nocturnist opportunity in a Top 100 Hospital with full intensivist and specialty support.
Join a collaborative and well-established hospitalist program at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital, a 450-bed regional referral center in the heart of the Texas Panhandle. The BSA Hospitalist Group includes 35 board-certified/board-eligible physicians and 8 advanced practice providers managing a daily census of approximately 230–240 patients. This opportunity offers autonomy with strong system support, 24/7 intensivist backup, and a collegial culture known for stability and teamwork.
Our nocturnist team provides overnight admissions, ICU and floor cross-coverage, and NP supervision with dedicated support from intensivists and the evening split-shift team.
Unlike many larger metro programs, our nocturnists typically manage 5–6 new patients per night (range 3–11). This balanced workload allows time for thoughtful chart review, communication with families, and patient-centered decision-making. Physicians here feel supported, not rushed—and that makes a measurable difference in care quality.
Our program is known for its organization and efficiency—from well-defined coverage roles to NP-managed phone triage and seamless patient distribution. It’s a system designed to let physicians focus on medicine, not logistics.
