Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative packaging solutions for new and existing products, considering product protection, cost, and manufacturability.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of packaging materials and designs to ensure product integrity, shelf life, and shipping stability.
• Select appropriate packaging materials based on performance requirements, cost-effectiveness, sustainability goals, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Optimize packaging processes and designs to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and decrease overall packaging costs.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams to integrate packaging solutions seamlessly into product launches and existing lines.
• Ensure all packaging complies with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot packaging-related issues on the production line to minimize downtime and ensure quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in packaging design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient understanding of various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, corrugated) and ASTM/ISTA testing standards.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and prototyping.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze packaging performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement cost-effective and sustainable solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Expertise in sustainable packaging materials and circular economy principles.
• Proficiency with specialized packaging design and optimization software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS, ArtiosCAD).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies.
• Experience with specific industry regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, pharmaceutical, or food packaging).
