Job Description

St. Andrew Catholic School in Saline, Michigan is a PreK through eighth grade school that opened in the 2023-24 school year. We are seeking teachers who are passionate about providing authentic faith formation for our students.

The school seeks a part-time physical education teacher to help lead students to wholeness in the image of Jesus Christ. Under the leadership and direction of the principal and under the care of the pastor of the parish, the key duties of the teacher will be:

Essential Functions

• Responsible for physical education related curriculum initiatives, programs, and projects
• Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns
• Encourage sportsmanship, cooperation, and listening skills.
• Supports and upholds the values of Catholic education and the mission of the school
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Supports and adheres to the Staff Covenant and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
• Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
• Be aware of and monitor internet usage for students as outlined by Diocese policy.
• To participate in a culture of faith and friendship centered on the love of Christ and the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
• To partner with parents and colleagues in providing a nurturing Catholic environment focused on academic excellence.
• To work with school leadership in professional development with the goal of improving in the craft of teaching.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Agreement with and support of the Catholic worldview
• A strong commitment to Catholic education
• Participation in the VIRTUS child protection program
