The mission of the Kansas Department of Insurance is to Regulate, Educate, and Advocate.
Regulate: Regulate and review companies that sell policies in Kansas to ensure solvency and compliance with insurance and securities laws and regulations.
Educate: Consumers about all things insurance and securities by publishing brochures and rate guides to assist in the shopping process, giving presentations to groups across Kansas and serving as a non-biased source of information.
Advocate: For a strong and competitive market to give Kansans choices when shopping for products that meet their needs.

The Kansas Department of Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team as a Special Investigator in the Legal Division, Enforcement and Investigations Section. As a Special Investigator, you will work with law enforcement officers and legal professionals to conduct investigations for civil action relating to insurance fraud. The role involves gathering evidence, analyzing data, and conducting interviews to identify potential fraud. If you have strong communication and investigative skills, the Special Investigator position will be a great fit for you.
The team members in the Legal Division, Enforcement and Investigations Section are collaborative and hardworking and have the optimal goal to protect consumers against insurance fraud in the State of Kansas. Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.
If you have a missing tax return(s) or you owe taxes to the State of Kansas, please know that the Kansas Department of Revenue will work with you. The Kansas Department of Revenue can set you up on a payment plan to receive a Tax Clearance so you can get a job working for the State of Kansas.
