Job Summary:
The High School Facilitator serves as the on-site support person for students enrolled in virtual courses in grades 9–12. This position is responsible for monitoring student academic progress, ensuring student engagement and accountability, maintaining communication between virtual teachers, classroom teachers, parents, and school administration, and providing support for campus-based learning experiences. The facilitator helps create a structured learning environment that promotes academic success, character development, and student achievement.
Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
- Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing.
- Posses a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification is required and must be maintained.
- Successful classroom experience is preferred.
- Must have a service-oriented attitude, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with students and families of diverse backgrounds.
- Posses competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential.
- Additional traits should include organization, attention to detail, self-directed, and motivated.
- Absolute confidentiality is required.
- Curriculum familiarity, content knowledge, as well as proficient instructional delivery are crucial.
Most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.
Job Responsibilities:
- Student Supervision and Academic Monitoring
- Supervise students enrolled in virtual courses during the school day.
- Monitor daily student attendance, participation, assignment completion, and overall academic progress.
- Ensure students remain on task and are actively engaged in their virtual coursework.
- Provide encouragement, accountability, and support to help students meet academic expectations.
- Assist students in understanding assignments and navigating online learning platforms when needed.
- Identify students who may be struggling academically and communicate concerns to appropriate staff.
- Virtual Program Support
- Serve as the primary liaison between students and virtual teachers.
- Assist virtual teachers by facilitating communication and supporting instructional needs.
- Monitor grade reports and student performance data.
- Help coordinate accommodations, interventions, and support services as directed by school leadership.
- Ensure students follow all school and online learning policies and procedures.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain regular communication with virtual teachers regarding student progress, attendance, and performance.
- Communicate with classroom teachers to ensure alignment and support for student success.
- Provide timely updates to school administration concerning student achievement, concerns, and program needs.
- Work collaboratively with admissions staff regarding enrollment, onboarding, and student transitions.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and guardians as needed.
- Student Onboarding and Resource Management
- Ensure students have all required materials prior to the start of classes.
- Distribute, manage, and track student devices and instructional resources.
- Assist students with basic technology troubleshooting and coordinate technical support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records related to student equipment and instructional materials.
- Campus Activities and Student Engagement
- Plan and facilitate on-campus activities, projects, enrichment opportunities, and discovery-based learning experiences.
- Encourage student participation in school events and extracurricular opportunities.
- Support efforts to build community and engagement among virtual learners.
- Field Trip Coordination
- Collaborate with Remote Campus and West Coast Christian Academy personnel to coordinate educational field trips and off-campus learning opportunities.
- Assist with planning, communication, supervision, and logistics for approved field trips and activities.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safety procedures during all events.
- Testing and Assessment Support
- Assist with the administration and proctoring of school, state, and virtual program assessments.
- Ensure testing procedures are followed according to established guidelines.
- Maintain testing security and confidentiality requirements.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate student records, logs, and documentation.
- Prepare reports and updates as requested by administration.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other required school functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrator.
