Job Description

This is a non-Humane World for Animals position and will be employed through a 3rd party.

National nonprofit organization is seeking individuals with a strong interest in animal protection to investigate and document cruelty to animals in a variety of settings throughout the country. The position requires extensive travel, an excellent driving record, and an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. The successful applicant will have experience working with animals, be bilingual, and able to work independently but remain accountable and communicative. Training will be provided. Knowledge of various species of animals is a plus.

Position Objective

To perform investigative techniques, including obtaining employment, in various animal industries and document the experience using both videography and written testimony.

Varies based on assignment. All domestic.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

  • Travel to different states and stay on location for up to several months at a time.
  • Maintain strong and daily communication with a supervisor using emails, phone calls, text messages, or other methods.
  • Obtain and maintain employment in various industries that use animals, including factory farms, slaughterhouses, roadside zoos, labs, and more.
  • Use photography and videography to document industry standards, conditions, violations of code and/or law, and cruelty to animals.
  • Submit objective, daily reports that recount the details of your workday along with logging and transferring daily footage.
  • Understand and follow all applicable state laws.
  • Work closely with members of the Investigations Department and the various campaigns at HWA.
  • Cooperate fully in post-investigation work including court or administrative proceedings that result from an investigation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Willingness and ability to travel and be away from home for months at a time.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Experience with professional and technical writing.

Diligent attention to detail and ability to handle extreme stress.

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license.

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.

The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $(24-30) per hour plus opportunity for OT. The ultimate hourly pay within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience.
