Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Production and Baking: Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, and breads according to company recipes and quality standards.  
• Decoration and Finishing: Decorate pastries with frosting, icing, and toppings; plate desserts for service with creativity.  
• Inventory and Ordering: Monitor stock levels for baking ingredients and supplies, and help maintain inventory to ensure consistent supply.  
• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, following all health department guidelines.  
• Leadership Support: Assist in managing, training, and guiding junior kitchen staff and bakers in the absence of the pastry chef.  

Requirements

• Experience: Prior experience as a pastry cook, assistant, or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of pastry techniques, ingredient measurement, and safe operation of baking equipment.
• Skills: Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays, along with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

• Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and efficiency to meet production deadlines.
• Often involves working under pressure in a hot, crowded environment while maintaining high quality.
